I wish more people paid attention to Isaiah 45:7:
“I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things.”
1 John 4:16 is seriously the most important verse in the whole Bible… please try to understand it.
If you are in God, and he is in you… what else is there?
How is it i could not be be religious? My brain for years makes me sense spiritual stuff and lots of things i would call “extra sensory” or a hallucination prehaps. Many with a strong Christian undertones. Oftentimes the senses i see, hear & feel are like “Jesus, God, angels, demons, satan etc…
Meds only do so much. These experiences are all part of my reality and what that actually is, varies from the perspective of the observer. So what is real and what isn’t is all subjective anyway.
I would rather seek meaning of these things, then diagnose them and call it illness. Who knows anyway, there is no right or wrong definition.

What is god,
Yes we yet have no universal truths especially in regards to our soul or spirituality. I believe there is something, a higher power, dimension, devine or state and that there are little snippets of wisdom, truths and many untruths, lies manipulation and politics in all organised religions. If you find that being, it has to be from within yourself and not an institute, moral high ground or organisation.
God could be universe, or me and you.
